On Friday, February 16, Alexander Broberg Skeltved successfully defended his thesis entitled, “Evaluating the production scenarios of terrestrial gamma-ray flashes.” Alexander has been part of the Birkeland group working with gamma-ray flashes.
Alexander’s Phd advisor has been Prof. Nikolai Østgaard of BCSS. The defense committee was comprised of Dr. Therese Moretto Jørgensen of BCSS and opponents Sr. Scientist Olivier Chanrion of DTU Space, Denmark and Prof. Joseph Dwyer, Univ. of New Hampshire Dept. of Physics, US. The leader of the defense committee was Prof. Emeritus Finn Søraas.
