On Monday, March 25, 2019, engineers at Terma uploaded improved software to the ASIM instrument. The instrument, which is installed on the International Space Station (ISS), was launched to ISS almost exactly a year ago on April 2, 2018.

The improvements to the software are intended to, among other things, enhance the sensitivity of the instruments and make them more sensitive to gamma flashes and giant lightning. They will also increase the timing accuracy between the two instruments to better than 10 million of a second.
